Bop It! Half-and-Half
One of the earliest concepts I made on video was a connectable Bop It that I made a mockup out of plywood (my dad helped me cut it out). The prototype name for it was ‘Bop It Half-and-Half’ but it was never set as the official title for it. It had the ability to separate into two halves—one half having Bop It, Twist It, and Pull It, and the other half Bop It, Spin It, and Flick It. The halves would connect in the middle at the Bop It buttons. This was back when my YouTube channel was in its earliest days as “Bopitmaster8”. This was also about 5 months before I met Bop It Inventor, Dan Klitsner.
Bop It! Smash Bowling
I made another prototype in 2020 of a bowling lane game, but it works like a Bop It Smash. You have 10 pins, just like normal bowling, but you also have a Bop It Smash light panel above them. The lights will go back and forth in patterns like a Bop It Smash. When you bowl down the lane, the sensors would detect the ball, like infrared, and once that triggers the sensor, the lights will stop. When you hit a pin, that’s considered your ‘Smash’. The lights would give you extra points on top of the number of pins you knocked down. It makes it tricky because you have to time your ‘smash’ with the speed in which you roll the ball, as well as the timing as to when the ball hits a pin to trigger the sensor. You would have to set all the pins back up yourself for the next frame anyway.
Bop It! Extreme 2: K-Pop
This was a concept box I made for Bop It Extreme 2 back in 2020. This was made with my dad’s computer that ran Windows 7, because I didn’t have my MacBook yet. There was really no difference to the actual unit’s design. The box, however, displayed how instead of the 4 music types in the original Bop It Extreme 2, it was all K-Pop music from 4 different girl groups I liked. They were TWICE, MOMOLAND, GFRIEND, and Red Velvet. I will admit the box design is not pretty by any means, but I was just first making those designs back then. I wasn’t even in my college program yet! This concept never went further than just this box. Those who were on my channel since day one back in 2020 would remember that I went through a big K-Pop phase from 2020 to mid-2021. By the way, the Korean text in the box, 익스트림, translates to the word, ‘Extreme’ with a capital E. The Korean word for ‘extreme’ with a lowercase e is, 극심한.
Bop It! Smash Ultimate
I made a concept for a Bop It Smash arcade game where you play similar to a ‘test-your-strength’ game to smash the blue light in the middle of the light tower. This concept video was made a little over 2 months before I met Bop It Inventor, Dan Klitsner.
